The Door Isn't the Last Decision. It's the One Everything Else Points To.

Every home makes an impression before anyone steps inside. It starts at the street, builds as you walk toward the house, and lands — fully — at the front door. The door is the focal point of the facade, the transition between the outside world and your home, and the element that ties everything else together or quietly undermines it.

KLM takes that seriously.

Door selection is one of the places where we slow down on purpose. The right door for your home is a specific thing — the right material, the right profile, the right glass, the right hardware, the right color against your siding and trim — and arriving there takes a real conversation, real samples, and time to sit with the options before committing. We have never rushed a homeowner into a door order we weren't both confident about. We're not going to start.

HOW KLM APPROACHES DOOR DESIGN

First We Get It Right. Then We Order It.

Most contractors treat a door as a line item. We treat it as a design decision — because it is.

Before anything gets specified or ordered, we work through the design with you. That means bringing samples to your home so you can see finishes and glass options in context — against your actual siding, your trim, and your landscape. It means creating renderings so you can visualize the door on your house, not on a stock photo of someone else's. As well as talking through proportions, sidelight options, transom configurations, hardware finish, and how the front door connects to what's happening on the rest of the exterior.

If we're doing your siding or windows at the same time, this conversation becomes even more important — the door has to work as part of the whole, and we're thinking about it that way from the start.

We don't go to production until you're certain. It's how you get a door you'll be proud of every time you pull into the driveway.

Our Door Partner

PROVIA — BUILT TO THE STANDARD THE ENTRY DESERVES

Why KLM Made ProVia Our Primary Door Partner

We became ProVia Authorized because their doors do what doors are supposed to do — look exactly right, perform in all weather, and hold up over time without compromising either. For a homeowner who cares what the finished product looks like in five years, not just on the installation day, that matters.

ProVia builds their entry doors with a level of craftsmanship and attention that shows in the details: tight tolerances, genuine depth in the panel profiles, glass packages that perform on energy without looking like an afterthought, and finish options that hold their color and integrity through years of Pennsylvania seasons. The difference between a ProVia door and a big-box entry door is visible the moment they're side by side.

As an Authorized dealer, KLM offers the full ProVia lineup and backs it with the manufacturer's warranty support. Coverage depends on the selected product and the applicable written warranty.

ProVia entry door options include: Fiberglass with wood-grain texture · Smooth fiberglass · Steel · Craftsman profiles · Traditional colonial profiles · Custom glass inserts · Sidelites and transoms · Full-light and partial-light configurations · Extensive hardware and finish pairings

Choosing a Door Material and Glass

Compare complete door systems rather than choosing by the slab alone. Fiberglass can provide a wood-grain appearance, while steel is available with a smooth painted finish. Wood offers a different natural appearance and care routine. Iron makes a strong visual statement and requires appropriate support and hardware. The product, finish, exposure and maintenance instructions all belong in the decision.

Glass affects privacy, daylight and energy performance. Compare the actual glass package, sidelites and transom together, and check how the door will swing around furniture, steps and exterior walkways. Ask to see the energy rating for the configuration being ordered rather than assuming every door in a product line performs identically.

Door Types We Install

ENTRY DOORS

The front entry is the centerpiece — it gets the most attention, carries the most design weight, and does the heaviest work in terms of security, weather tightness, and energy performance. A well-chosen fiberglass or steel entry door can offer durability and lower maintenance than a traditional wood door. Performance and finish care depend on the specific product and its exposure.

We guide every homeowner through the full range of options — material, insulation value, glass configuration, hardware, and color — and we don’t finalize the order until the selection is right for the home.

STORM DOORS

A quality storm door extends the life of your entry door, adds a layer of insulation and ventilation control, and gives you a seasonal option to open the interior door and bring light and air into the entry without losing security. On colonials and older homes common throughout Bucks County, a well-matched storm door also adds a refined finishing touch.

We’ll make sure the storm door you choose works with your entry door and the overall aesthetic — not against it.

PATIO DOORS

Where a patio door sits — between the interior of the home and a deck, patio, or back yard — it sees some of the most demanding use of any door on the house: constant traffic, direct weather exposure, and the expectation of smooth, reliable operation year after year. It also frames a view and fills a living space with light, which means aesthetics matter as much as performance.

We install sliding and hinged patio door systems in configurations that fit the opening and the space, with glass packages sized and specified for energy performance without sacrificing the reason you wanted glass there in the first place.

What the Opening Can Tell You

A sticking latch or worn weatherstripping does not automatically mean the entire door must be replaced. Water staining, soft material around the sill, recurring leaks or visible frame damage deserve closer assessment. The source of a leak may involve the wall, flashing or threshold as well as the door itself.

A replacement plan should identify what stays, what comes out, how the threshold and flashing connect to the wall, and whether repairs to the opening are included or handled through an approved change. A slab-only replacement depends on a suitable existing frame and compatible dimensions and hardware; it is not interchangeable with replacing the whole assembly.

Exposure, Storm Doors and Porticos

Discuss the direction the entry faces, its exposure to rain and sun, and the product’s installation requirements. A storm door must be compatible with the entry door behind it. For an exposed entrance, a custom portico can be considered as part of the overall design; it does not replace correct door and wall flashing.

What Affects Door Replacement Cost?

Compare the door material and product line, glass and privacy options, sidelites or transoms, hardware, opening size, trim and any required framing or sill repairs. A larger configured entry system is a different scope from a single door in an unchanged opening. When comparing proposals, check that they cover the same removal, installation, finishing and cleanup work.

Questions to Settle Before Ordering

  • What exact door, glass, hardware and finish are included?
  • Will the existing frame remain, and how will its condition be checked?
  • What happens if concealed damage is uncovered?
  • What are the product lead time and planned installation sequence?
  • Which written product and installation warranties apply, including exclusions and care requirements?

If the project also includes replacement windows or siding, discuss the sequence together so the openings, trim and weather barrier form a coordinated exterior.

Our Full Door Lineup

We work with three door brands and suppliers, each chosen because their products meet a standard we're comfortable putting our name next to.

ProVia — our primary partner for entry, storm, and patio doors. American-made, Authorized dealer, full warranty backing. The right choice for the majority of homes we work on across Bucks County, and surrounding areas.

Grand Entry Doors — for homeowners who want something more architecturally distinctive. Grand Entry offers premium fiberglass and wood entry doors with a level of detail — panel depth, glass artistry, hardware integration — that reads immediately from the street. If you're renovating a home that deserves a true focal point at the front, Grand Entry gives you options that most contractors in this area don't even carry.

Bighorn Iron Doors — for the homeowner who wants to make an unmistakable statement, Bighorn hand-forged iron doors are the solution.Massive visual presence, exceptional durability, and a character that no fiberglass product can replicate. Not the right choice for every home — but for the right home, nothing else comes close.

These aren't brands we stumbled onto. We researched them, installed them, and watched them perform over time before we put them in front of a homeowner. If you have a specific product or brand in mind that isn't on this list, we'll tell you honestly whether it meets the standard we hold everything else to.

Why Homeowners Choose KLM for Doors

We know what performs — and we only carry what does. Two decades of installing doors on Bucks County homes taught us which manufacturers build to a standard worth recommending. ProVia, Grand Entry, and Bighorn Iron are the brands we landed on because we've watched them hold up over time on real homes in this climate. Our experience made the selection.

Design guidance before production. KLM works through the design with you — samples at your home, renderings on your actual house. The door you receive is the door you chose with confidence, not one you're hoping looks right once it arrives.

Brands we've tested against this climate. Twenty years of installing doors across Bucks County means we know what performs and what doesn't. We recommend what we'd put on our own homes.

GuildQuality Guildmaster — Highest Distinction, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026. Seven consecutive years at the top tier of verified homeowner satisfaction.

Family-owned and never rushed. The people managing your project are the people whose name is on the company. We take the time the decision deserves.

What Our Clients Say

"Maciej had wonderful suggestions for our front doors and helped us choose a beautiful look for our home. Luke was very attentive to our project and stopped by multiple times to be sure we were happy with the progress. We are so happy with the outcome — our neighbors and strangers walking through our development keep giving us compliments."

Valerie G Furlong, PA

"The sales side with Maciej Chechla was exceptional. I was really impressed with their process and how they put everything together. Everything was laid out very nicely — I have never seen anything like it. Luke Chechla was the project manager. He was in contact throughout the whole thing. We always knew what was going on."

William C Newtown, PA

"Maciej never rushed me. He dropped off samples, shared photos of previous projects, and arranged for me to view materials in person. He even coordinated the delivery of larger Hardie Board samples to ensure I was confident in my color choices. While I received estimates from other contractors, my early meetings with Maciej are what ultimately sold me on KLM."

Flora P Glen Mills, PA

"Our project included new siding, windows, doors, a covered porch, and a new front portico — and we couldn't be happier. KLM did a great job keeping us updated throughout. Our curb appeal is now off the charts, and multiple neighbors have already asked who we used."
